2. Financial Services and Markets Act 2000

Investment transactions

Bond Solicitors is not authorised under the Financial Services and Markets Act 2000 but we are able in certain circumstances to offer a limited range of investment services to clients because we are professionally regulated by the 
Solicitors' Regulation Authority. Their rules can accessed at
www.sra.org.uk .As a client you are able to use the complaints and redress procedures operated by the Legal Ombudsman. We can provide these investment services if they are an incidental part of the professional services we have been engaged to provide.

Nothing we say or do should be construed as an invitation to engage in investment activities, nor as advice on the investment merits of acquiring or disposing of particular investments.

Insurance mediation activity

Bond Solicitors is not authorised by the Financial Conduct Authority. However we are included on the Register maintained by the Financial Conduct Authority so that we can carry on insurance mediation activity in the UK, which is broadly the advising on, selling and administration of insurance contracts. This part of our business, including arrangements for complaints or redress if something goes wrong, is regulated by the Solicitors Regulation Authority. 7. Professional Indemnity Insurance

In accordance with the disclosure requirements of the Provision of Services Regulations 2009, Bond Solicitors has professional indemnity insurance cover which meets the requirements of those regulations and those of the Law Society. Our insurer is St Pauls Travellers whose address is Exchequer Court, 33 St Mary Axe, London EC3A 8AG. 8. Anti-Money Laundering

Pursuant to our obligations under anti-money laundering laws and our accompanying professional obligations, if you instruct Bond Solicitors, we will use various available sources of information to establish certain matters about you, such as verifying your identity, including electronic verification.

9. Scams and frauds

Please be aware that criminals may pose as someone from Bond Solicitors, in order to carry out scams or frauds. These scams will often originate by email and may involve offering a large sum of money to the victim (such as an inheritance, unclaimed bank funds, lottery wins or  even loans) in return for paying a more modest sum in advance, often referred to as a transaction or brokerage fee. Key to the scam is the entering into any form of communication.

If you receive an email of this nature claiming to be from Bond Solicitors do not correspond with the sender. It is highly unlikely to have come from Bond Solicitors. Please forward it to the firms Practice Manager, Adrian Bond at adrian.bond@bondsolicitors.com.

Neither Bond Solicitors nor any solicitor or employee of the firm will be responsible for any losses incurred by such a scam.

This is a company registered in England & Wales (Registered Number 03774396) .  Please note that this is a separate business to Bond Solicitors and it is not regulated by The Law Society, the Solicitors Regulation Authority and the Legal Ombudsman, nor does it need to be as it does not provide legal services.

The best way to serve you is to make sure you are cared for by well trained professionals. As such, we are happy to give the following assurances when it comes to our affordability, our prices, and the ways in which you can access our services:

We will never incur fees or costs on your behalf or at your expense without your consultation and consent. We offer some services paid for using Legal Expense insurance or other agreements. The availability and merits of these options will be unique to you, your case and your circumstances and will be evaluated and explained to you as necessary. 

Much more detailed pricing information on one specific area of our services is set out below. you are very welcome to contact us at any time, to learn about your legal position, our fees, or both without charge.

* Our Prices - For Debt Recovery Up To £100,000 
What is included in the stated price (excluding VAT)

Pre-claim work will include all work to try and recover the debt or settle the case. We may be able to offer you a Fixed Fee for our preparation of a formal Letter before Claim. This largely depends on the complexity of your matter and we will discuss this fully when/if we are able to offer you a Fixed Fee for the LBC. If we are unable to offer you a Fixed Fee for the LBC, we will advise you of this and our work on the LBC.

* Court Fees for Making Your Application

You are liable for all Court Fees payable in the process of recovering your debt. These are available at: https://www.gov.uk/make-court-claim-for-money/court-fees.

There are no Court Fees for entering judgment.

* Other Court Fees

Other Court Fees which you may need to pay are available at:

+ Order to obtain information form a Debtor.

* Fixed Costs

The following fixed costs will be charged to you as part of your claim and you may recover these if a judgement is obtained and the other side pays the judgement including your costs and interest.

Solicitors Fixed Costs

Solicitors Fixed costs on commencement of a claim for the recovery of money or goods for one defendant:

+ If the value of the claim exceeds £25 but does not exceed £500 - £50
+ If the value of the claim exceeds £500 but does not exceed £1,000 - £70
+ If the value of the claim exceeds £1,000 but does not exceed £5,000; or
+ If the only claim is for delivery of goods and no value is specified or stated on the claim form - £80
+ If the value of the claim exceed £5,000 - £100
+ Costs on entry of judgment in a claim for the recovery of money or goods
* Where the amount of the judgment exceeds £25 but does not exceed £5,000 - £22,000
* Where the amount of the judgment exceeds £5,000 - £30,000

Fixed Enforcement Costs

+ On attendance to question a judgment debtor - £15.00 for each half hour or part.
+ On the making of a final third party debt order - If the amount recovered is less than £150 one then the cost is half of the amount recovered otherwise - £98.50
+ On the making of a final charging order - £110.00. The court may also allow reasonable disbursements in respect of search fees and the registration of the order.
+ Where a writ of control is issued against any party - £51.75
+ Where a writ of execution is issued against any party - £51.75
+ Where an application for an attachment of earnings order is made - £110 (these are not standard but will be claimed and usually Ordered)

* What is Not Included

If your case is defended then we will charge on a hourly rate ranging from £90 - £350 per hour. This will depend on the complexities of the matter and the experience of the fee earner who deals with your matter.

In addition, the fees will be charged on a staged fixed basis. The means that for every stage of the case, we will provide transparency of the cost of that stage. Unless there are unforeseen circumstances the staged fixed fee sum is the amount that you will be billed. We will request payment of money on account to cover each stage and prior to the work being commenced on that stage.

We will provide you with an estimate of additional work if the matter becomes defended or if exceptional circumstances require additional work. Nothing will be done without prior consultation with you and your acceptance of the charges.

* How Long Will it Take?

We will give you an individual estimate of typical stages to a matter, and typical timescale of each stage.

+ Letter before Claim sent. No response within 30 days (if sent to a consumer under the pre-action debt protocol or 14 days of sent to a business)
+ No response then issue a claim
+ Notice of issue comes through in 2 days
+ Defendant is allowed 14 days to defend the proceeding
+ Judgement entered on 15th day
+ The Judgement Order is then obtained from the Court which takes 5 days
+ An Application is issues for the client's chosen enforcement process which then take anything up to 6 to 12 weeks
